Octopus Wrestling

Do you want to know how much not being able to post pictures on my blog is hurting me. I just read a Wikipedia article about the sport of 'Octopus Wrestling'. They even had a picture of three magnificent bastards showing off the defeated cephalopod.

"H. Allen Smith wrote an article for True magazine in 1964, collected in Low Man Rides Again (1973) about a gentlemen named O'Rourke whom he dubs the "Father of Octopus Wrestling." According to information Smith collected from Idwal Jones and other sources, O'Rourke and a partner developed a business in the late 1940s of fishing for octopuses with O'Rourke serving as live bait and his partner hauling him after an octopus was sufficiently wrapped around him."

How fantastic does that sound? At first I thought they had a ring at the bottom of the shallow waters. Each guy and octopus had a colorful nickname and there was a nice big ass championship belt involved.
