Goodnight Giant Penny

These are from Detective 853 - the Neil Gaiman story -'Whatever Happened To The Caped Crusader' - the 'final' chapter to Batman R.I.P. Heavy with Gaiman's ruminations on life and death - mostly death - it does have some seriously beautiful panels as Bruce is finally give 'permission' to rest and return to those carefree days of his youth before he was saddled the the 'burden' of being the Dark Knight. All the story was missing was Morpheus from the Dreaming. (click to enlarge)

Just a shame it ties in to DC's take on Marvel's Death of Captain America storyline. I'm sorry but I have no intention of reading any of the Death of Batman titles except Neil's.

Neil's is more of an homage to the character and is thankfully free of the whole Batman RIP/Battle for the Cowl nonsense.
